Important Information about Herceptin
Herceptin, also sold by the chemical name of trastuzumab is known to treat HER-2 positive breast cancer. The treatment option is preferred either in early stage or advanced-stage/metastatic. The chemical has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. It has received approval: To treat metastatic HER-2 positive breast cancer so that it can stop the growth of cancerous cells To treat earlier stages of HER-2 positive breast cancer along with chemotherapy, or even alone after chemotherapy regimen that also includes an anthracycline. Herein, it is used to reduce the chances of recurrence of cancerous cells.
